The Maricopa County Home Shows invite all Interior Design Students to mark their calendars and submit their entries for the 12th annual Student Design Competition, January 11, 12, 13, 2013 at the Arizona State Fairgrounds. This is an excellent opportunity to launch your career with the endless marketing and resume building possibilities presented by participating in this competition. Submit your 8”x11” sketch of your 10x20 room design accompanied by a paragraph description of the room. The deadline for entry is December 7th, 2012. The Student Designers selected to compete will be notified by December 10th, 2012.

"Tour for Life" Home Tour

Tour For Life is a very elite home tour that showcases the work of Arizona’s top home and interior designers. Put on by The Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS, this event offers opportunities for students to not only volunteer and support a great cause, but also to combine practice-based learning with opportunities for professional networking. This is a two day event and they are asking for 100 student volunteers to donate 2-3 hours of their time.

The event will be held on Saturday, October 27th and Sunday, Oc
tober 28th.

Volunteers will be assigned to staff one of the many tour homes and be on-point to help visitors understand design elements of their assigned home. There are several pre-event receptions and a national design symposium held in a prominent design studio the week prior to our Tour For Life.

Interior Design Club/ASID Recruitment Pizza Party

All Phoenix College students are welcome to join us at our kickoff/Recruitment Party. The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) will be there to inform students about their organization. Our club is also looking for interested people to join for the 2012-2013 school year. Please attend if you are able and bring any student you think might be interested.

The event is on Wednesday, September 5th, 2012 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm in the Interior Design Lab (DB136).

Fall 2012 Club Meetings

For the Fall 2012 Semester club meetings will be held every 2nd and 4th Monday of each month from 2:00pm to 2:45pm. They will be held in the Interior Design Lab (DB136). All students are welcome to attend.

Floor Styles Showroom Tour

Come join us for a tour of Floor Styles' Showroom.

Floor Styles is a wholesale showroom for the interior design, architectural, furnishing and floor covering trades.

The tour will be held Wednesday, September 12th, 2012 at 12:30pm
